Operations and Maintenance of the Plant is being undertaken under terms of a twenty-three year O&M Agreement with Asia Gulf Power Service Company (AGPS), a company formed specifically by foreign sponsors of TAPCO, that is Marubeni (35%), BTU Power (25%), Powertek (25%) and JGC (15%)
FB Generation Services (FBGS), a company formed specifically by Fortum (75%) and Babcock Borsig Service (25%) has assigned its staff to key positions of AGPS under terms of a five year O&M Subcontract between AGPS and FBGS.
All staff previously employed by ATPC have been transferred to AGPS.
AGPS is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the entire Taweelah B Plant complex, which consists of Initial B Plant, Initial B Extension and New B Extension. AGPS has continued to perform operation and maintenance activities for Initial B Plant and Initial B Extension from the Closing Date and will undertake its activities for New B Extension upon its completion.
AGPS will also undertake the O&M activities of the Shared Facilities Company at the Taweelah IWPP Complex.
