Adopting the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ADWEA has proven to be a responsible element in the community taking account into its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates – maximizing benefits and reducing negative impacts.

Through the concept of CSR, ADWEA focused on the following three dimensions activities:

• Environment oriented activities
• Education oriented activities
• Communal functions

In cooperation with NWERC, ADWEA provides necessary information regarding air quality and carbon emissions in ADWEA power plants. ADWEA participates in many environmental events, such as the recently sponsored campaign organized by the World Wildlife Fund to promote energy conservation.  As well as previously providing the Environment and Wild Life Authority with the equipment used for air and pollution testing.

Education is an integral part of ADWEA interests within the community, we aim to establish strong relationships with the education community by training secondary school students on ICDL, distributing hundreds of PC units for schools and site visits to Western region schools where we carry out the distribution of school bags, stationary and water and electricity consumption rationing manuals among students.

ADWEA committes itself to social activities to the extent, it became a main sponsor for conferences, exhibitions and other social events. The wish to take on these roles comes from a deep concern towards its social responsibility within the Emirate; we accomplish this through the adoption of an open strategy in the society representing a vital integral element.
